Taco Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 c. chopped tomatoes
    2 c. chopped onions
    1/2 (mild) to 1 c. (hot) chopped jalapeno peppers
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. canning salt
    3 Tbsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. alum
    1 (16 oz.) can tomato paste
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients, except onions, together for 45 minutes. Add onions and heat for an additional 5 minutes.
    Pour into jars and seal in a hot water bath for 15 minutes.
    Makes 9 pints.
