Country Captain From India - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken, cut up
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    2 tsp. curry powder
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
    1/4 c. raisins
    1 can tomatoes
    1 garlic, crushed
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/4 c. salted almonds
Preparation
    Salt and flour chicken.
    Fry in shortening until brown. Add all
    others.
    Bring to boiling, reduce to simmer and cook 30 minutes
    or
    until\tchicken
    is
    tender.
    Serve over rice. Sprinkle almonds on top.
