1 c. old-fashioned oats
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 large eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp. nutmeg, ground
Preparation

Put oats in a mixing bowl and pour boiling water over oats. Set aside for 20 minutes.
