Layered Spinach Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 head lettuce
1 pkg. fresh spinach
1/2 large purple onion, cut in rings or chopped
12 oz. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
3 boiled eggs, sliced or chopped
1 pkg. frozen peas
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. mayonnaise (regular or light)
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Cut up lettuce.
Wash spinach; cut off stems and chop.
Mix lettuce and spinach together.
Combine the sugar and salt. Sprinkle 1/2 of the sugar-salt mixture over the greens.
(If desired, set aside some of the bacon and boiled eggs for garnish.) Now, layer the onion, bacon, boiled eggs and peas on top of the greens.
Stir the remaining sugar-salt mixture into the mayonnaise and spread evenly over the salad, \"sealing off\" the top. Refrigerate overnight.
