Fig Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. oil
    3 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. fig preserves
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into bowl; add oil and beat well.
    Add eggs, beating after each addition.
    Gradually add buttermilk, figs, nuts and vanilla.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    While warm, stick holes in cake with fork and glaze.
