Crunch "N" Crackle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. water
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. soda
1/8 tsp. almond extract
1 1/4 c. 100% natural cereal (Rice Krispies)
Preparation

In heavy 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, water and corn syrup.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook until hard crack stage (300\u00b0), or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into threads which are hard and brittle.
Immediately remove from heat.
Stir in butter, soda, almond extract and cereal.
Pour into large, greased baking sheet.
Quickly spread mixture to about 1/4-inch thick. Cool; break into pieces.
Makes about 1 pound candy.
