Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. milk
    3 c. sugar
    12 eggs
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Heat milk in double boiler.
    Let almost boil.
    Add sugar gradually while stirring.
    Beat eggs in blender and add some of the hot milk to eggs, then add egg mixture to hot milk.
    Cook until custard coats the spoon.
    Remove from heat and let cool slightly and add vanilla and salt.
