Creamy Party Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 large pkg. (6 oz.) Jell-O (cherry or strawberry)
    6 oz. cream cheese, softened
    2 c. Cool Whip, softened
Preparation
    Drain pineapple well; save juice.
    Add enough water to juice to make 2 cups.
    Heat liquid to boiling.
    Add boiling liquid to Jell-O to dissolve.
    Add cream cheese while still hot and beat with rotary beater until smooth.
    Cool, stirring occasionally.
    Let set in refrigerator until partially jelled.
    When set, beat with rotary beater.
    Fold in Cool Whip.
    Dot with cherries after pouring into 9 x 12-inch pan.
    You may sprinkle with nuts.
    Chill.
    Serves 10 to 12.
