Escalloped Potatoes And Hamburger - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground chuck
    1 tsp. salt
    6 medium potatoes, peeled
    1 large onion, peeled
    salt and pepper
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper (if desired)
Preparation
    Mix together meat and salt.
    Brown slowly in fat, stirring frequently.
    Alternate in a buttered casserole layers of sliced potatoes, sliced onions and the browned meat.
    Sprinkle each layer of potatoes with salt and pepper.
    Mix mushroom soup and milk. Add green pepper; pour over mixture.
    Cover; bake in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
    Uncover; bake 15 minutes longer, or until potatoes are tender.
