1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 Tbsp. chopped maraschino cherries
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream together butter, shortening and sugar.
Blend in egg and almond extract. Add sifted dry ingredients.
Blend in maraschino cherries, coconut and pecans.
Drop by level tablespoons onto greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with a half maraschino cherry.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
