Cherry-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. maraschino cherry juice
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. maraschino cherries, chopped and drained
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease bottom only of 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. Beat all ingredients on medium speed for 45 seconds except cherries.
    Stir in cherries and pour into pan.
    Bake 70 to 75 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    Immediately loosen and remove from pan.
    Cool completely before slicing.
