Sour Cream Bowknots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1 egg
    6 Tbsp. sour cream
    1 1/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Beat egg.
    Add sifted confectioners sugar.
    Mix well.
    Add lemon rind and sour cream.
    Add sifted flour and baking powder. Mix well and knead until elastic.
    Roll out 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board.
    Cut into 3/4 inch wide strips and diagonally every 2 inches.
    Cut slit and pull through to make a bowknot.
    Fry in deep fat about 10 seconds per side.
    Drain, cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
