Ginger Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. salt
    1 gal. water
    1 gal. thin sliced cucumbers
    2 1/2 qt. vinegar
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    6 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Bring to a boil and pour
    over pickles; let stand 3 days. Drain solution.
    Add 1 cup sugar; reheat
    and pour onto pickles. Let stand 3 days.
    Repeat until 3 cups
    sugar
    have
    been
    added. Pack pickles into jars.
    Heat vinegar solution.
    Pour
    over pickles and seal.
    (Will also keep without sealing.)
