Pie Crust Flaky Pastry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. unsifted flour (plain)
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening, chilled
    1/4 c. unsalted butter, chilled in bits
    5 to 6 Tbsp. ice water
Preparation
    Combine flour and salt.
    Cut in shortening and butter.
    Add water, sprinkling 1 tablespoon at a time, until pastry holds together to form a dough.
    Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.
    Let stand a few minutes before rolling.
