Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can corn kernels, drain off liquid
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Mix corn, flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat egg with the milk and add to corn mixture.
    Stir in the melted shortening.
    Drop by teaspoons in hot oil and cook 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Top with powdered sugar, honey or syrup.
    Yield:
    about 1 1/2 dozen.
