Buttermilk Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    1/2 or 1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cook first 5 ingredients over medium heat until it thickens and makes a soft ball in cold water.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Beat until stiff.
    Pour on greased platter. Cool and cut in squares.
