White Orange Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
    3/4 c. glace cherries, halved
    1/2 c. golden raisins
    1/2 c. candied orange peel
    1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg.
    (Take 1/2 cup of this dry mixture and mix with pecans, cherries, raisins, candied orange peel and grated rind.)
    Beat together butter and 1 cup sugar in large bowl until smooth.
    Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
    Stir in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk until blended.
    Gently stir in pecan mixture.
    Spoon batter into small loaf tins.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 20 minutes until a wooden pick comes out clean.
    While these are baking, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup orange juice in small saucepan.
    Bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
    When cakes are done, remove from oven.
    Let cool 10 minutes.
    Prick holes in cakes with long tined fork or skewers and spoon orange syrup over cakes.
    Wrap in foil and store.
    Keep in cool place 4 weeks.
    It is important that no substitutions be made for this recipe.
