Brandied Orange Bowknots - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3 eggs
5 1/2 Tbsp. orange juice
1/2 c. brandy
Preparation

Mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
With hands, work in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal.
Add eggs and orange juice.
Mix to form dough.
Shape into ball. Cover with brandy and let stand 30 minutes.
Roll out onto floured board to thickness of pie crust.
Cut into 2-inch squares.
Cut slit in center and pull one end of dough through slit.
Deep fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds.
Drain on paper.
Cool and sprinkle with 10x sugar.
