Fettucini Alfredo With Asparagus - cooking recipe

3/4 lb. fettucini
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 tsp. salt
1 pinch nutmeg
4 Tbsp. butter
1 c. heavy cream
1 lb. asparagus
1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Snap the tough ends off the asparagus and discard them.
Cut the spears into 1-inch pieces.
In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook the fettucini until almost done (about 8 minutes).
Add the asparagus.
Cook until just done, about 4 more minutes.
Drain the pasta and asparagus and toss with sauce prepared as follows:
