Grandma'S German Potato Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 large white potatoes
    2 bags seasoned dressing mix
    2 large onions
    2 large apples
    4 large stalks celery
    4 large carrots
    poultry seasoning to taste
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Grind first 6 ingredients together.
    Add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix well.
    Pack loosely in turkey. Excess stuffing may be placed in aluminum foil and baked in end of roaster with turkey, or placed in greased pan, covered with foil and bake separately.
    When ready to serve, remove from turkey and pan and place in heavy lightly oiled skillet over medium heat.
    Add enough broth or water to make a thick stirring consistency.
    Stir occasionally until lightly browned.
    Serve immediately.
