Tootsie Bar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg yolk, beaten
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening, egg and sugar.
    Add flour and vanilla. Spread mixture on greased cookie sheet.
    Pat out until mixture is thin (almost covers cookie sheet).
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Melt 1 large chocolate bar in double boiler.
    When cookies cool slightly pour chocolate and spread.
    Cool and cut into squares.
