Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (7 oz.) can coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Cream butter and Crisco together.
Add sugar and egg yolks. Sift together flour and soda; add to mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Makes three layers.
