Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter (not margarine)
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. light corn syrup
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Melt butter; add sugar and salt.
Blend in syrup and gradually add milk.
Stir constantly over medium heat for 20 minutes, being sure not to let temperature get over 245\u00b0 (use candy thermometer). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and pecans.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch glass pan.
Score before totally cooled.
