Texas Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 strips bacon, diced
    2 lb. boneless beef round, cut in 1/2-inch cubes or hamburger
    2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1/2 c. thinly sliced carrots
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. finely chopped celery
    2 Tbsp. fresh parsley
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground cumin
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Remove bacon and brown beef in drippings for 5 minutes.
    Place in crock-pot.
    Stir bacon and remaining ingredients into crock-pot.
    Cook on low 10 to 12 hours.
