Cherry Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (use part butter)
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Roll
    in
    small
    balls.
    Press down in pan with a fork. Bake in\ta moderate oven (350\u00b0).
    Put a little white icing on top of each and a cherry.
