Punch Bowl Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans crushed pineapple
    1 pkg. yellow cake mix
    1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
    2 cans cherry pie filling
    4 medium ripe bananas, sliced
    2 cans fruit cocktail, drained (15 1/4 oz.)
    2 cans mandarin oranges, drained
    1 carton frozen whip topping
    1 pkg. flaked coconut
Preparation
    Drain the pineapple saving the juice.
    Prepare cake batter as package says, using the juice instead of water.
    Add some water if needed.
    Bake as directed in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cool; cut cake into 1-inch squares.
    Prepare the pudding by package directions.
    Place 1/2 cake into punch bowl.
    Top with half of the pudding, then 1/2 of each of the following:
    pie filling, pineapple, banana, fruit cocktail, oranges, whip topping and coconut.
    Then do the same again.
    Cover and chill for at least 6 hours or overnight.
    Serves 55.
