Salmon Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. Crisco
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. milk
    1 can salmon
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. onion powder
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. cracker crumbs
Preparation
    Melt Crisco on low fire.
    Make white sauce by blending these ingredients:
    Crisco, flour, salt and pepper.
    Add milk slowly and cook until thickens, stirring continuously.
    Cool slightly.
    Remove backbones from salmon and flake.
    Beat egg and add to salmon along with onion powder, lemon juice and cracker crumbs.
    Mix together in bowl.
    Add white sauce and mix thoroughly.
