Fast Fixin' Fruit 'N' Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Duncan Hines Deluxe II white cake mix
    1/4 c. oil
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. water
    1 (20 to 23 oz.) can your favorite pie filling (suggestions: cherry, apple, blueberry, peach, strawberry, lemon, pineapple, pumpkin and blackberry)
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks and 2 whites, beaten well
    2 1/2 c. flour
    milk from fresh coconut plus enough buttermilk to make 1 c. liquid
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar. Add the 4 egg yolks and 2 whites, beaten together.
    Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer. Sift flour with soda added.
    Add flour mixture to first mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
    Add vanilla.
    Fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in three 9-inch layer pans that have been greased and floured.
    (I use four 8-inch pans.)
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Makes 3 large layers or 4 smaller layers.
