Johnnycake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. johnnycake meal (Gray's stone-ground preferred)
    2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix meal, boiling water and salt.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Stir in milk.
    Heat a skillet over medium-high flame.
    Oil it well. Fry small cakes until browned, then turn to cook other side. Makes 12 johnnycakes.
