White Onion Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 oz. fat
    1 1/2 oz. plain flour
    2 to 3 onions
    1 pt. stock
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    pinch of salt
    sugar and vinegar to taste
Preparation
    Melt fat.
    Add flour and finely chopped onions.
    Cook until pale yellow.
    Add cold stock, stirring constantly.
    Stir in caraway seed.
    Bring sauce to a boil and cook for 10 minutes over low heat.
    Mash and season with salt.
    Add vinegar and sugar, if desired.
