Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 lb. sausage
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. chicken pieces
    1 lb. or more cleaned baby shrimp
    1 large clove garlic
    canned chicken broth
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    salt and pepper
    cayenne red pepper
    1 large onion
    chopped celery or green pepper (optional)
    diced ham (optional)
Preparation
    Fry sausage; drain and cut in bite size pieces.
    Saute onion, celery and pepper in drippings until tender.
    Add broth, tomatoes, seasoning, chicken and sausage.
    Bring to a boil and add rice. Cover and simmer 25 minutes.
    Add shrimp during last 5 to 10 minutes.
