Quick Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine (room temperature)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 large apple, pared, cored and cut into 1/4-inch thick wedges
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3 eggs
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. coarsely chopped almonds
Preparation
    Cream together butter and the 1/2 cup sugar. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Stir in vanilla and flour, mixing well.
    Spread evenly in buttered 9-inch round cake pan.
    Place apple wedges into cake batter to form a circular pattern.
    Mix together 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over cake. Sprinkle top with almonds. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
