Easy French Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. warm water
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    2 tsp. salt
    6 to 6 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix water, yeast, sugar and butter and let stand until bubbly (about 1/2 hour).
    Add egg, salt and about 5 cups of flour, a cup at a time.
    Transfer to floured surface and knead in remaining flour until smooth.
    Place in an oiled bowl for an hour or more, until doubled.
    Punch down dough and divide dough in half.
    Shape into loaves and place in oiled loaf pans.
    Let sit until double, about an hour.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Makes 2 oblong loaves.
