Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour (plain)
6 eggs
2 c. jam
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cloves (I substitute with 2 more allspice)
1 c. sour cream in which is dissolved 1 tsp. soda*
Preparation

*To make sour cream, add 2 tablespoons white vinegar to 1 pint canned milk.
