Glazed Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 yeast pkg.
    1/2 c. water
    1 egg
    4 to 6 c. flour
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
Preparation
    Heat the milk.
    Pour milk into large bowl and add salt, margarine and sugar.
    Mix and cool to lukewarm.
    Add 2 cups flour and mix thoroughly.
    Add egg and the yeast that has been dissolved in 1/2 cup water.
    Mix well.
    Add enough remaining flour to make soft dough.
    Knead lightly.
    Let rise 1 1/2 hours.
    Punch down and lay out.
    Cut with doughnut cutter and let rise 1/2 hour.
    Fry in hot oil or fat.
