Sukiyaki (Stir-Fry Beef) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, cut in thin diagonal slices
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 medium onions, peeled and sliced thin
    1 green pepper, sliced in thin strips
    1 c. celery, cut diagonally in thin slices
    1 carrot, sliced in thin strips
    1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1 bunch green onions, cut in 1-inch lengths with tops
    1/2 c. soy sauce
    1/4 c. water (optional) or cooking sherry
Preparation
    Heat oil in skillet.
    Add meat and brown.
    Sprinkle half of sugar over meat while browning.
    Add all vegetables and stir about 3 minutes.
    Add rest of sugar, soy sauce and sherry and cook a few minutes more.
    Serves 4.
