Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    5 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    5 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    5 c. milk
    6 c. thinly sliced potatoes
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended. Gradually add milk. Bring to boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sauce thickens. Place half of potatoes in a greased 3-quart baking dish. Pour half of sauce over potatoes. Repeat layers. Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 70 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is lightly browned.
    Serve immediately. Yield: 8 servings.
