Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. stew meat
    2 tsp. salt
    1 (1 lb.) can tomato wedges
    2 c. potatoes, cubed
    1 c. cabbage, shredded
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. carrots, sliced
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 1/2 Tbsp. uncooked rice
    1/2 tsp. grated pepper
Preparation
    Cover meat with water.
    Add salt and heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 3 hours.
    Remove meat from stock.
    Let stock cool slightly; skim excess fat from surface.
