Tomato Cheese Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 large onions, diced
    1 pkg. (6 oz.) plain croutons
    6 large tomatoes, sliced
    1 tsp. dry basil or 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
    3 c. (12 oz.) shredded Danish Havarti cheese
Preparation
    In saucepan, medium heat, saute onions in butter for about 5 minutes.
    Stir in croutons and saute for another 3 to 4 minutes. In a well-greased 2-quart casserole, layer croutons with onions and tomatoes, sprinkled with basil and cheese.
    Finish with tomatoes and cheese.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Makes about 6 servings.
