Classical Latvian Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large leaf lettuce or Boston (never iceberg or romaine)
    pinch of sugar
    salt to taste
    1/3 c. cream (if cream is too thick, dilute with buttermilk or milk)
    1/2 tsp. lemon juice (optional)
    2 Tbsp. chopped green onions or chives
    1 Tbsp. fresh chopped dill weed
Preparation
    Mix sour cream with all seasonings and chopped greens.
    Place 2/3 lettuce in salad bowl.
    Pour dressing and mix gently. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to blend tastes.
    Add the other 1/3 lettuce.
    Mix lightly and serve at once.
    At this point, can add sliced cucumber and/or radishes for color.
    But never, never tomato, green pepper or other.
