Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. corn meal (self-rising)
3 Tbsp. flour (self-rising)
2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Combine meal, flour and onion.
Add gradually egg and milk. Drop from a spoon into hot oil.
Mixture should be thick.
Cook until golden brown.
Hush puppies can be cooked in same oil as fish was cooked in.
