Cut-Out Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Chill dough at least 3 hours. Roll to 1/8 to 1/4-inch on lightly floured surface (sometimes I use powdered sugar to flour the surface). Cut out with favorite cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Yields about 2 1/2 dozen.
