Ada'S Vegetable Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lbs. ground beef
    2 lbs. kidney beans
    2 cans tomato soup
    2 cans water
    2 cups celery, diced
    1 lg. green pepper, diced
    1 cup onions, diced
    1 cup carrots, diced
    2 cups potatoes, diced
    chili powder (optional)
Preparation
    In a 5 qt. pot combine celery, carrots, beans and soup.
    Fill soup cans with water and add to pot.
    Cook over low heat.
    In a large skillet, brown beef, stirring frequently to keep in small pieces.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Empty skillet into pot. In same skillet, brown peppers and onions.\tAdd to pot.
    Simmer pot over low heat, stirring occasionally at least 4 hrs.
    The longer the better.\t1 hr. before serving, add diced potatoes and cook until tender.
