Fresh Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. broccoli
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. flour
    1 qt. chicken broth
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 qt. half and half (milk and cream)
Preparation
    Cut broccoli into small pieces.
    Steam with 1 cup water until tender.
    In a double boiler melt 1/2 cup butter and flour to make a roux.
    Add chicken stock, salt and pepper.
    Cook until thick.
    Add half and half and cooked broccoli.
    Heat thoroughly.
