Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 box brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Add flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda; mix well.
Add chopped nuts.
Form dough into a roll about 8 inches long and 2 inches in diameter.
Roll up with wax paper.
Chill until firm.
Cut into thin slices and bake 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated 375\u00b0 oven.
