Oven Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb. cubed (raw) beef
    1 1/2 c. each: carrots, potatoes and cubed onions
    1/2 c. cut up celery
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 medium can V-8 vegetable juice
    water to cover meat and vegetables
    3 Tbsp. tapioca
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    frozen peas
Preparation
    Spread beef in bottom of large casserole dish or roaster.
    Salt and pepper meat.
    Cover with vegetables.
    Pour the V-8 vegetable juice over all.
    Add water to cover meat and vegetables.
    Mix tapioca and sugar.
    Sprinkle over top and \"puddle\" to moisten it. Cover and place in a 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 oven.
    Bake about 5 hours. Frozen peas added the last 1/2 hour will add color and flavor.
    Be sure to leave \"head\" room in pan for bubbling.
