Canadian Christmas Meat Pie - cooking recipe

3/4 lb. ground pork
3/4 lb. ground beef
2 potatoes, diced and boiled
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 pie crusts
Preparation

Slightly prebake pie shell.
Mix meats and brown with water and onion; stir occasionally until pinkness is gone.
Drain and save meat broth.
Mash potatoes; if dry, blend meat broth in.
Mix potatoes with meat until smooth.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Add ground cloves, cinnamon and salt.
Pour mixture into prebaked shell; top with crust and seal edges.
Bake at 400\u00b0 until top is golden brown.
Cool 10 minutes before serving.
