Spaghetti Meat Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 lb. ground meat
    olive oil or butter
    1 large bay leaf
    3 cans tomato paste
    water (approximately 9 cans full, using tomato paste cans as measure)
    1/2 tsp. sweet basil
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. sage
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. powdered marjoram
    dash of nutmeg
    dash of pepper
    1 tsp. salt or to taste
    parsley (optional)
Preparation
    Saute the onion and garlic in olive oil or butter until tender. Add bay leaf.
    Add beef and brown, stirring frequently. Add tomato paste and water. Add all other ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil. Boil hard for 10 minutes. Simmer 3 to 4 hours. Remove bay leaf before serving over pasta.
