Plain Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Put in refrigerator for 1 hour.
    Put on bread board and knead. Cut with dough
    cutter about 1/4-inch thick, then heat fat with 2 or 2 1/2 pounds
    lard
