Grandpa Burton'S Vidalia Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large Vidalia onions
    1 unbaked pie shell (9-inch)
    6 slices bacon
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. white pepper
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. heavy cream (whipping cream)
    2 whole eggs
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese plus 2 Tbsp. reserved
Preparation
    Thinly slice the onions.
    In large frying pan, saute bacon until crisp.
    Drain the bacon of all grease and crumble it in bottom of pie shell.
    In same pan, put in butter and onions and cook until they are slightly soft.
    Stir occasionally.
